Thanksgiving - Every day

Happy Thanksgiving to all my family and friends! I thank God for each and every one of you. Thank you for your love and kindness to me.

Since I was a very thoughtless young person and didn't learn early in life to give thanks, I will let you know what I finally learned.

First, give thanks to God, your Heavenly Father, every single day of your life. Then, give thanks to those around  you - the ones who work to support you and care for you, who feed and clothe you and are there for you in so many ways - the ones you may take for granted unless you become more aware and show your appreciation.

To everyone in your life who speaks a kind word to you, writes you a note, sends you a gift, does you a favor - let that person know that you appreciate their thoughtfulness and their caring.

If that person is not nearby, then write a note (within ten days - after all, it only took six days to create the world!). A family can use one sheet of paper and one stamp. Every member who has received a letter or a gift can add a few words to that letter.

No one wants to be thanked as an obligation, as gifts should be given without thought of what one might get in return, but we all welcome loving responses from others which makes a full circle of love.

Dear Tim, thank you for your note. I have the same feelings for you as you expressed to me. You have always been one of my favorite people - even when you were a little kid! I hope to see you again soon.

Becca and I have been trying to plan a time when we can make it down there to visit you. I'll let you know as soon as I know more.

Love,
Tim
